The situation

Buildings with large roofs, whether industrial or not, are generally covered with bituminous membranes or corrugated sheets resting on Y-beams. It has always been the most economical and therefore the most widespread solution for covering large spans of roofs.

The problem

This method has some limitations. The bituminous sheath is overlapped roll by roll and welded. The welding point with the freeze-thaw cycle (typical of the changing seasons) and UV radiation tends to deteriorate over the years. In the case of roofs with corrugated sheets on Y-beams, these in concrete tend to suffer over time and to show significant signs of damage

The solution

Coat new coverings (the best option) or worn ones from decades of use with a special patented resin system from Fiprokim.
The resin acts as a protective layer for the concrete of the Y beams and the bituminous sheath.
In the case of the latter, however, the resin system, being elastic, is able to interact with the sheath system minimizing cracking and damage as much as possible.
