Dustproof Resin for Concrete Floors

Cleaning, hygiene, and the absence of dust: the dust-proof resin from RPM Italy seals and protects concrete surfaces.

Hygiene

The dust from the concrete no longer exists: the dustproof resin seals the pores and prevents flaking.

1

Waterproofness

The sealing provided by the dust-proof resin blocks the absorption of liquids, making the floor waterproof.

2

Resistance

The dustproof resin makes the floor resistant, which no longer suffers from the unloading of goods, continuous passage, and the weight of machinery.

3

What is Dustproof Resin and why is it so useful

Surface flaking, particles that disperse into the environment: concrete, especially when new, tends to crumble and continuously produce dust. The dust-repellent resin from RPM Italia stabilizes the cement and prevents dust release.

The ultra-thin film, almost imperceptible to the eye, penetrates the pores of the cement, sealing it permanently and creating a more compact surface, protected against liquid absorption and easier to maintain. In production and logistics contexts, the dust-repellent resin floor enhances aesthetics and safety, maintaining a natural appearance while making it more functional and durable.

The difference between dustproof resin, epoxy, and polyurethane

The dust-proof resin is designed as a surface solution, intended to protect concrete without altering its structure or thickness. It serves as the base for other resin floors, such as those made of epoxy or polyurethane.
Epoxy is chosen for a durable and structured coating, capable of withstanding mechanical wear, heavy traffic, and chemical products. Polyurethane resin (or Poliuretano Cemento) is more elastic and resistant to thermal shocks and UV rays, making it ideal for food areas or environments subject to humidity.
The dust-proof resin does not replace these systems, but represents a lighter treatment, perfect when the main requirement is to block dust, improve cleanliness, and maintain the natural aesthetics of the concrete.

Practical differences

Epoxy resin

For a durable, compact, and joint-free floor, choose the epoxy resin from RPM Italy. Enhance the aesthetics, hygiene, and functionality of your surface.

Polyurethane resin

Resistant to temperature fluctuations and stable against UV rays, polyurethane resin is the right choice for food environments and places where heat and cold alternate rapidly

The practical advantages of Dustproof Resin RPM Italy

The immediate improvement of the environment and its usability: the dustproof resin from RPM Italy provides an immediate benefit. As soon as it is laid, the resin will seal the concrete surface, blocking the release of dust and thus making the floor safer, more hygienic, and more pleasant. While aesthetically the concrete will remain unchanged, preserving the colors, textures, and naturalness of the materials, the appearance will be more uniform and professional.

The dustproof resin treatment is quick and can be applied even in operational environments, minimizing downtime. The application of the dustproof resin will allow for the quick removal of dirt, stains, and oils, which, unlike before the treatment, will no longer be absorbed by the floor.

Where is dustproof resin used?

The dustproof resin finds application in a wide range of contexts. In the industrial sector, it is often chosen for areas of goods unloading, warehouses, workshops, and technical rooms, where cement dust can pose a problem for daily activities. It is also highly appreciated in light production environments, which require a clean surface but do not need the performance of a thicker resin floor.

In the residential and commercial, this treatment is ideal for lofts, showrooms, shops, and spaces with an industrial style. It allows for maintaining the authenticity of exposed concrete, while improving functionality and cleanliness.

How the application of dust-proof resin takes place

The intervention includes an initial phase of floor analysis, useful for checking porosity and any presence of moisture. After a thorough cleaning, the resin is applied with a roller in a very thin layer that penetrates the concrete and seals it. In some cases, a primer may be used to improve adhesion. The result will be a visually identical surface, but definitely more compact, stable, and protected.

Preliminary analysis of the environment

Every project starts with a technical inspection during which the existing support, environmental conditions, and usage methods of the floor are analyzed to identify the most suitable resin system and to prevent future issues.

Preparation of the substrate

Targeted mechanical processing, such as sanding, grinding, and shot blasting, is carried out to prepare the concrete substrate, or other types, essential to ensure the adhesion of the resin cycle and the durability of the flooring.

2)

Execution of complementary works

Before or during the installation of the resin floor, complementary works are carried out, namely drainage supports, perimeter edges, and skirting boards. These elements help complete the environment and facilitate cleaning and sanitization.

3)

Application of the resin cycle

Based on the required performance, the installation of the resin floor is carried out following specific cycles. We calibrate thicknesses, finishes, and slip resistance to achieve a continuous, safe, and durable surface.

4)

Final inspection and commissioning

Once the hardening cycle is complete, and thus the catalysis of the product, the surface is ready to be used. At the end of the application, the floor is checked in every detail to ensure safety, continuity, and compliance with the project.

Certifications and technical documentation

6)

At the end of the work, RPM Italia provides the client with the technical documentation related to the applied system, including the certifications required for each sector, to support the needs for monitoring and managing the flooring over time.
